April Canadian Federation of Poets Newsletter

Happy Poetry Month!
This is our month so be sure you are being as active with your poetry as you can be.

Spread the word that poetry is alive, and critical to the social fabric of society.

CFP VOLUNTEERS OF THE YEAR

The Canadian Federation of Poets runs on volunteer power, and I am grateful for everyone that gives their time, support, and promotion efforts. Throughout this past year I would like to give recognition to some very special people that keep the wheels turning every day.

George Arnold - National Coordinator

George Arnold is the Oakville Federation Chair, Burlington Co-Chair, Oakville Arts Council representative, and has won the CFP Poet of the Year 2 years in a row. George is a vital member of the CFP, and the only awarded lifetime member.

George is responsible for the success and expansion of the CFP in Canada with respect to the operation and growth of Federations/Chapters throughout the country.

Betty Dobson - Calendar Coordinator and Editor of Poetry Canada magazine

Betty Dobson is an award-winning, published writer and the owner of InkSpotter Publishing. As a longtime volunteer, she donates her time and her talents to causes close to her heart, including adult literacy, AIDS awareness, and the prevention of violence against women.

Betty is responsible for updating the online calendar with CFP, member, and editor of Poetry Canada magazine.
