Poet P.K. Page Passes

Canadian literary grande dame P.K. Page, long renowned for her poetry and other writing, died at the age of 93 at her home in Victoria.

Patricia Kathleen Page has amassed numerous awards and honours for her work both within Canada and abroad. In 1954, she received The Governor General’s Award in Poetry, and The Lieut. Governor’s Award for Literary Excellence in 2004. In 2000, her poem, “Planet Earth,” was chosen by the United Nations for its reading series, Dialogue Among Civilizations Through Poetry.

A companion of the Order of Canada, the British-born, Canadian-reared Patricia Kathleen Page was considered among Canada's most esteemed writers.
